WOODEN SCULPTORS
A area by the Mill Stone which was made up of a large number of tall young trees have been thinned. This included removing trees from around, two grand old pear trees which are a feature along the boundary. This will allow more open conditions for the pear trees to grow. A series of mushrooms and toadstools have been carved out of some of the tree stumps.
In the field by Aston Wood Gold Club a number of sycamores have been cut down. This will prevent excessive shading and encroachment by the sycamores and will help to open up area for the benefit of grassland flowers. A series of wooden sculptors have been made out of some of the old tree stumps whch includes a number of toadstools, a chair and a man.
Members of the public have already informed us that the wooden sculptors have made a lovely addition to the Nature Reserve.
